Deb and Paul: Getting Ready, Hilton on the Waterfront, Burlington

As wedding photographers in Vermont, we get used to traveling long windy roads to get to our weddings.  And we love it... except maybe at midnight after a full day of shooting when we have to meander our way home.  Then, well, it can be a bit more tiresome, although we do have fun discussions on the way home from said weddings (the last one involved finding the perfect karaoke song for me, still tbd).

Deb and Paul's wedding?  Well, unless you wanted to get married in our favorite round the corner alley (not recommended, however cool the pictures may be), you couldn't get any closer:  Burlington, Vermont.  Our home.  We do so love this place, and we love it when our couple's do, too.  When we first met Deb and Paul for their engagement shoot, they did say how much they loved it here in Vermont (they are snowboarders, like us, after all), but also Burlington, itself.  And so they chose to be married here.  Friends and family all stayed at the Hilton right on the waterfront and then the wedding was at Burlington City Arts on Church Street, a little over a block away.  And what this offered was the best of both worlds-- gorgeous Lake Champlain right out the window, and then the artistic scene of BCA.  Did you know there are more artists per capita in Vermont than any other state?  That's how we roll.  And I love how Deb and Paul are such artistic engineers, and art patrons, to boot (just look at their flowers?!)

And, it was a really nice time getting ready with them.  From the pictures, one can tell that Paul and the boys are a laid back group, more inclined to say, business casual, then a more buttoned up Wall Street look :)  But, they do pull off suits in a pretty dapper way.  And, the girls?!  Well, ranging from Grammy, Mom, and Sis to some really great close friends, Deb is surrounded by a great group of women who love her so much, and vice versa.  Just a really great community of people.  And, one cannot forget the connection between the two of them.  I mean, its evident again in the details just how much they care for eachother.  I'll let the images tell the story.

Note that the rain just made everything more beautiful and romantic, although I must say a few wedding party members were more than just a little helpful on the umbrella front...
Stay tuned for the Ceremony and party at the BCA!
