Hopefully what we shared in Part One of Ashley and Matt's wedding got you excited for what we have in Part Two. Because here it is! The wedding itself was a limo ride away, to a quaint Vermont chapel. Big windows let in sunlight, illuminating the alter adorned with dogwoods (this Virginia girl liked that very much). The ceremony was light and bright, with laughter and tears punctuating each moment. The sense of family, the feeling of community permeated as Ashley and Matt sealed their vows with a kiss. With the true purpose of the day complete, I must say it was far from over. All weddings have a celebration, whether it be intimate and demur or jubilant and raucous. And let me tell you, this one was a party. After everyone shared in the first dance, some hilarious and heart-felt toasts and a yummy meal, the dance floor was open. And it didn't close. Well, maybe for a second when the bouquet got stuck in the chandelier (scroll down to see). But honestly, Carin and I had to tear ourselves away. Though we can't help but boogie a bit with our cameras in hand, we don't actually join in the fun. But between the DJ doing it proper, the packed bodies on the floor and the good people of Matt and Ashley's clan. . . it's a good thing we had a 3 hour drive to get to.
Congratulations Matt & Ashley! Thank you so much for letting us be part of your day. It was a ton of fun!
