Glam meets Grit: The Aftersession with N&M

As everyone who gets married or has been to a wedding knows - the whole day goes by in a blur.  For the couple getting married, it can be so hard to be present and aware of every moment considering all the details that need tending, and all the places you have to be at once.  I sometimes think that the wedding and party can be for the community rather than the couple.

Enter the aftersession. . . a few quiet hours the day after the partay (or a couple weeks later for those who jet off on their honeymoon asap).  One gets all glammed up again (who wouldn't want to wear the dress just one more time?), and we go to a location or two of the couple's choice.  All the couple does is pretty much stare into eachother's eyes and quietly connect however they choose.  Kind of an extension of the party, but just a party for two.

Naomi and Micah did just that.  And they were so much fun (totally as expected).  When we first talked with them about photographing their wedding, we said we'd do it on one condition - "the car" makes it into the photos.  It did.  The backdrop of the Willard Street Inn provided an old world glamour (along with our gorgeous couple, of course), and we added a little grit with our hangout of choice--the Pine Street Alleys.  Our "hood," so to speak, where we always jump at an opportunity to take pictures.

Enjoy the love.  We sure did when taking the pictures.  Thanks, Naomi and Micah, for being so fabulous to work with, and thanks for sharing your special day with us.

  1. You guys, these photos are amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your talents and spirits with us. We are currently on our honeymoon, so it is so nice to re-live both the wedding and the after-shoot through these blogposts. It was just so much fun!
    xoxo
